When should my child be seen by a dentist?

The Canadian Dental Association recommend that a child should be seen by a dentist at the age of one. However, we believe that children should be brought in at age two for a fun visit, and age three for an official visit.

We recommend that parents start cleaning a child’s teeth with a soft cloth or baby toothbrush when the first baby tooth appears in the mouth.

It is important not to comfort the child at bedtime by giving him/her a bottle of milk or juice, as it can cause serious dental decay.
